Those stories inspired a dream: to create a place where every reader could experience that same feeling. The Forbidden Wing Bookshop was born from the belief that books have the power to carry us through difficult seasons, introduce us to unforgettable worlds, and connect us with one another.
Today, our traveling bookshop brings carefully curated stories from beloved bestsellers and independent authors to local voices and magical Blind Date with a Book experiences, to readers all over and most importantly, in East Tennessee. Whether you’re searching for your next obsession or simply a quiet moment between pages and the chaos of life, we’re honored to be a part of your story.

Founder & Curator of The Forbidden Wing A Jesus loving, mom of three, Registered Nurse and Military wife. and someone who has always believed that stories have the power to comfort us, challenge us, and remind us we’re never truly alone.
Every Grand library has a hidden wing. Mine isn’t filled with forgotten manuscripts or ancient secrets. It’s filled with hope and refuge and finding myself again in the adventure of Motherhood. When my youngest son, Theo, was diagnosed with autism and ADHD, our world changed in ways we never expected. We learned to celebrate milestones that others might overlook, to find joy in the small victories, and to embrace a journey that looked different from the one we had imagined. Along the way, books became more than stories or guides, they became bridges to connection, comfort during long nights, and windows into worlds where imagination had no limits.
These moments planted a dream. I wanted to create more than a place to buy books. I wanted to build a space where every reader feels welcome, every author has the opportunity to be discovered, and every child, especially those who experience the world differently can find a story that speaks their language and keeps their attention.

Because there is no single way to fall in love with reading.
For some children, it’s a beautifully illustrated picture book. For others, it’s an interactive story, a graphic novel or audiobook., the one to finally capture their imagination and transport them to worlds they’d never experience otherwise. Any way that journey begins, it deserves to be celebrated.
